I’ve hit this 3 times now and the solution is no where on the web, so here it is. If you have a Samsung drive and use the SecretZone, always a good idea for an external drive because it can be easily stolen, there are two problems you can hit:
- Clicking connect does nothing. In this case, if the USB drive (not the SecretZone drive letter) is E:, go to E:\Samsung Software\SecretZone and delete the file vi.dat. (Rename it if you’re worried about data loss.)
- If the software shows disconnect when it is not connected, you may have a network share assigned to the drive letter SecretZone uses. Disconnect that network share and restart the SecretZone software. Then it will work.
